Far East...(English)

Hello all from Taipei/Taiwan,

From the last time that I wrote a blog , a lot of things has changed in my life. First I quitted my job in order to attend a Chinese language course in Taiwan by the scholorship of Taiwan government. Now I am in the international house of Taipei and writing a new blog at 3 am at local time. Let me first tell the story untill now...First of all, after I organized all my stuff in Bursa , I carried them to our house in Istanbul. That was really a hard work that I have never done in my life. Then I went to Ankara in order to take the necessary documents and visa for the travel to Taiwan, visited METU(Middle East Technical Unversity ) in order to arrange online master procedures. Then I took a long way to Tirebolu in order to visit my parents and have a nice holiday. There , I stayed just two days and went to Samsun in order to take an airplane to Istanbul.
So, after a long trip in Turkey , I was ready for the long way to far east. After the last ceremony in Ataturk airport , I started my journey to first Dubai with Singapore airways. This airway company was really exotic because of its traditionally customized host and hosteses, luxurious because of having tv and music set for each seat. After about 4 hours we made a 1 hour stop in Dubai. As I got into the Dubai airport , the muezzin starts to sing. That was really an amazing moment that I still has the feeling of being at my house. Then we flied about 7 hours to Singapore. Since this country doesnt require visa from the Turkish citizens , we got into the city easily. This country is located at the 1 north paralell of the world. That`s why there exists tremendous hot and humidity. There ,we waited for early check-in (it is free of charge 48 hours in advance) then got ito the city by metro. Singapore is really different than I expected. Since that is the first far east country , I expect that everybody speaks Chinese or any other language. However the official language of Singapore is English, and the traffic flows at the left side. There , we met the hospitable hospitabilityclub guys , 2 singaporean, 1 german, and 1 polish (she was the one that we stayed). Then the local people brought us to a special restaurant near the Singapore river. They offered us traditional food and beer (Tiger beer). After that we went to another reastaurant in order to taste Singapore Sling which is the traditional drink of that place. By the way , as a Black sea region guy (where the 80% of hazel nut of the world is being produced) , I gave them hazel nut. Altough they have seen this fruit for the first time, they really liked it.Maybe we can start a trade:))) I , again , want to thank all for their hospitality and kindness.

The next day , we went to Johor Baharu which is a city of Malesia in the border of Singapore. In the customs , we had no difficulties , since we do not need visa for Malesia. This city was like what I expected from a far east country. They speak Malay and Chinese, indian. Chinese temples, churches and also Mosques can be seen since this country includes all of these religions. There , for the first time, I ate fried banana, so delicious. Since the seller was also muslim, he had given me 1 kilo of banana as a present. That was great. Since it took about 20 minutes, we turned back to Singapore, to the harourfront where we got on a cablecar in order to make a round trip around the Singapore city. The view was really great from lots of meter high.

I also want to talk about the saling strategy of Fareast people. In Singaore, I went to the famous China town where you can get stuff such as blaubles , toys and even electronical devices. There , while walking in front of a shop , I just intended to buy handycam. As said that was just an intention. However , the salesman there , stared to offer some accesories with that camera . Then I started to bargain. I did not know how I came to this situation. Actually I was about to buy. Finally the best thing for the slaesman hapende, my intention turned into real request. However , I strongly advised to argain in such shops, because, I bought the camera that had a price of 400 dollars , about a price of 350 dollars including the stuff such as lenses, bag,and protectio coverJ)) The next day we took our flight to Taipei. I will write about this country whose streets are very complex, full of motorbikes, people, cars, bikes and something interesting smell...
